The main window that appears on startup is shown in Figure 1. A VIS CDF file must be opened prior to taking any other action. Do this by clicking on the Open... button in the file menu. After a file has been opened an active image window is created.
The Loop Mode button controls the sequencing of images when they are played back as a movie. The Circular option scrolls forward a single image at a time and then reverses direction when the final record is displayed. The Forward option scrolls forward but jumps to the first image after the final record is displayed. The Reverse option scrolls in reverse image order and jumps to the final record in the sequence after the first image is displayed.
The Image Number panel allows the user to select the active image. This scroll bar is not active during playback mode.
The Playback Control panel contains six buttons with the following functions (listed from left to right).
The Time Stamp area displays the starting time of the current exposure and the center time of the current exposure.
The Cursor Position and Pixel Value area displays the current (or last) coordinates of the cursor within the active image window. The pixel value at that position is also displayed. Note that for the Earth Camera the (zero, zero) postion is at the top-left corner of the displayed image. The Low Resolution Camera images are displayed in the same orientation as the Earth Camera but, since the camera is physically inverted on the spacecraft, the (zero, zero) position is at the lower-right corner of the displayed image.
