Image Detail

Figure 8 shows the image detail window. This window textually presents regions of the active image along with a statistical analysis of the region.

The region size, updating mode, and value to display (actual pixel values or uncompressed values) can be chosen from the Options button. These options are explained below.

The default mask size is 9. The mask size must be an odd value and represents a square region centered on the cursor position. If an even value is entered, it is increased by 1. The minimum value is a mask size of 3.

The default operating mode is continous, meaning that the image detail window is updated with every movement of the cursor within the active image window. Click mode may be selected which will update the window only when the left mouse button is clicked within the active image window.

The pixel values can be displayed in terms of compressed [0..255] or uncompressed [0..4096] form. This is changed via the Units button. Note that when compressed values are displayed the average and standard deviation are not computed.
